The Middler is pleased to present Eight Paintings, an exhibition of works by Robert D. Scott on view by appointment from Sunday, September 22 until October 27, 2019. Eight Paintings brings together works by Robert D. Scott created between 1978 and 2005 which explore the nocturnal dimensions of New York City and its relationship to spiritual and supernatural experience.
Painting represents one aspect of Scott’s artistic activities, which also include archival projects, small sculpture – in the form of box-like dioramas and architectural miniatures – and collage.
Robert D. Scott has exhibited previously in the Metropolitan Museum of Art Staff Show (1981), at Tompkins Square Library Staff Shows (1995 and 1997), and in one-person shows at Tompkins Square Library Gallery (1998, 2000, 2005, 2008, 2011 and 2014).
